Marian (Arnold) Brode

Marian Brode 93 of Ravenna passed away Thursday December 25, 2014 at Bonnie's Home HealthCare in Rootstown, Ohio.  She was born September 5, 1921 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to the late Andrew J.  and Edith G. (Meckley) Arnold.  Mrs. Brode has lived in Ravenna since 1945 and retired from Ravenna City Schools where she worked in the Cafeteria.  During WW II she had worked for Firestone and was a charter member of the Kent Presbyterian Church.  She also was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 1055 in Ravenna and the Ravenna Moose.   Survivors include her daughter JoAnn (Mark)McEwen of Ravenna, her grandchildren Shawn (Shonnie) Liston, Heather (Bryon) Bradley, Meghan (Ryan) Cooley, Colin (Kelly) McEwen, Diane Coy, Jason Brode, 13 great grandchildren and one great great  granddaughter.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Jim " Brode on September 6, 2006, her son Robert Brode, Jr. on May 16, 2007, her grandson Scott Liston, her son in law Paul Liston and siblings Florence Bell, Mary Catherine Arnold, Josephine Gove, Richard Arnold and Jerry Arnold.  Calling hours will be Monday December 29, 2014 from 6-8 Pm at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel and on Tuesday December 30, 2014 from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at the Kent Presbyterian Church with Rev. Aaron Meadows officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio.  The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Bonnie's Home Healthcare for their excellent care of their mother also they  request  that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kent Presbyterian Church or Bonnie's Home Healthcare.  Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
