Marie E. (Kristoff) Varga

Marie E. Varga 100 of Ravenna passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Woodlands at Robinson. She was born August 23, 1909 to the late Frank and Mary (Vasko) Kristoff. Marie has lived in Portage County since 1975 coming from Cleveland. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church Ravenna, Eastern Star (Arema Chap #292), Willing Workers SS Class, 60+ Club in Rootstown, Abundant Life Club, PCAB and the Senior Center. Survivors include her sister Josephine Bogorae of Brownsville, PA, niece, Arlene Szabo of Chardon, step-daughter, Joanne Ford of Cleveland, step-son Terry Varga of Georgia, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Varga who died December 10, 1997, son, Theodore S. Kristie, sisters, Rosella Lauer, Christine Kurek, Ann Asadorian , Julia Zlamal, Hedda Labant, Elizabeth Kristoff, brothers, Frank Kristoff, Paul Kristoff, Stephan Kristoff and Joseph Kristoff. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 21, 2010 in Maple Grove Cemetery with Rev. Scott Purdum officiating. Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel handling the arrangements.
