Mark L Mccoy

Mark McCoy, 62 of Ravenna passed away Friday July 23, 2021 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio.  Living in Ravenna most of his life and was formerly of Windham, Mark was born June 17, 1959 in Ravenna to the late Richard "Dick" and Alice (Friedt) McCoy.  He was working for the Kent State University as a sanitation Engineer after  38 years of service at the Eaton Corp in Mantua and Aurora.  He was known as  one who kept the Ohio Lottery in business and was a person who loved to study Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster.  Also being an avid sports fan from supporting the Windham Bombers and Ravenna Ravens all the way to all the Cleveland Sports teams.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Allison McCoy.  Survivors include his wife Cheryl (Wagner) McCoy whom he married July , 7, 1990, his sons Bryon (Amber) Michael, Stephen (Lynn Kister) McCoy,  Dan (Maegan) McCoy, his grandchildren Lily McCoy, Liam McCoy, Harlie McCoy Gunner Michael, Callum McCoy, his siblings Bobbie Friedt, Gary McCoy, Pat Larkins, Babs Daugherty, Mike McCoy, Val Shankle and Joyce Kolesar.  Calling hours will be 5-8 PM Wednesday July 28, 2021 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday July 29, 2021 with Rev. Brad Edder officiating.  Mark will be laid to rest next to his daughter in Windham Township Cemetery Windham, Ohio.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Spina Bifida Association.org where donations can be made online.  Condolences and memories of Mark may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com
