Martha Carol (Kester) Baker passed away unexpectedly at her home on October 5, 2014.  Martha was born to Lucy Hampton Kester and the late Jack Kester on August 29, 1960.  She grew up in Ravenna Township and attended Ravenna City Schools, graduating from Ravenna High School in 1978.  She graduated with an associate degree from Dyke College, and worked as a paralegal for several years at the law office of Kane, Bangas & Sicuro.  She later worked in the Ravenna School District as an aid and Library Assistant. Martha is survived by her husband of nearly 25 years, Michael R. Baker of Ravenna Township, and by her son Corbin Michael Baker and daughter Gwen Carol Baker. She is also survived by her mother Lucy Kester, mother and father- in- law Becky and Ron Baker of Ravenna, and brothers, Dr. Leigh A Kester of Akron; Jay Kester and his wife Ann, of Ravenna; nieces Hannah Kester and Jesse Baker; nephews Jordan and Jarret Baker and John Norman Kester. Funeral services will be held at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home in Ravenna on Thursday October 9th at 1 pm; with interment to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Leigh A. Kester officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Protective League, or the Humane Society of Greater Akron.
