Martha J. (Schaffer) Croasmun

Martha J. Croasmun 71 of Rootstown passed away Monday April 3, 2017 at Akron General Hospital.  Born on March 11, 1946 in Akron, Ohio  to the late Harold and Catherine (Jensen) Schaffer, she has lived in Rootstown the past 24 years.  Early in her life she had worked as a stand girl for area racetracks and later became a nanny helping out many families.  She was a member of St. Peter of the Fields Church in Rootstown.  Survivors include her husband Robert C. Croasmun  whom she married in 1976, her sons Charles  (Kara) Croasmun of Circleville, Ohio, William (Sherry) Croasmun of Edinburg, Ohio and her niece Rebecca Schaffer (Dave) whom she raised like a daughter, her grandchildren Crystal, Jenna, Krystal, Olivia , Nicholas and siblings Catherine Kalail and Charles Schaffer.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Gary and sister Doris Smoot.  Calling hours will be from 12 noon on Friday April 7, 2017 until time of services at 1:00 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with Father David Misbrenner officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Peter of the Fields Church Cemetery.   Condolences and memories of Martha may be shared with the family
