Mary Ellen (Davis) Lewis

Mary Ellen (nee Davis) Lewis was born on August 10, 1930, to William and Helen (Marko) Davis and died on Thursday, July 10, 2025. She was born in Cleveland but lived the last 70 years in Streetsboro in her starter-home. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman whom she married in 1950. She is survived by her children Kathy (Orv) Harpole of Yorba Linda, Ca., Karen (Brian) Mills of Seminole, Fl., Tim (Gayle) Lewis of Streetsboro, Tom (Gayle) Lewis Streetsboro and Sam (Laura) Lewis of Streetsboro. She had 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Mary was a founding member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Streetsboro and was involved in many activities at the parish, including working the fish fries and bingo. She was long-time member of the Streetsboro American Legion Post 685 Auxiliary and participated in a multitude of activities with the Legion over several decades. Mary and Norm owned two taverns during the 1980’s and 90’s; first was the Elbow Inn in Akron and after that the Bedford Inn in Bedford. She also was an avid fan of Streetsboro sports, as well as any Cleveland or Ohio State team, and closely followed whatever sport was in season.  She would always tell stories of her first Cleveland Indians game at League Park as a little girl. There was never a person she met that she didn’t like.  She always had her nails done and a smile on her face. To honor Mary’s love of sport the family asks you to wear your favorite Cleveland or OSU gear to the calling hours which will be from 5 – to 8 PM Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro (PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro.
