Mary J. Powell, 81, of Streetsboro passed away Monday May 30, 2016 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna. She was born March 31, 1935 in Mannington, West Virginia to Aubrey J. Hart and Edith Pauline (Waters) Haun. Mrs. Powell resided in Streetsboro where she and her husband Grover raised their seven children. Mary was retired and as a member of the Congregational Church of Yahweh spent her time serving the Lord. She is survived by her children Robert Powell of Akron, Brian (Inez) Powell of Ravenna, Gordon (Laurie) Powell of Huntsburg, Ohio, Ronald Powell of Streetsboro, Susan (Raymond) Larrick of Streetsboro, Tracy (Timothy) Matta of Ravenna, 13 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and brothers John Hart, Ronald Haun, Donald Haun all of Fairmont, WVA. She was preceded in death by her father Aubrey Jennings Hart, her mother Edith Pauline Haun, her husband Grover "Gomer" Powell, her son Phillip Powell and daughter in law Barbara Powell. Calling hours will be 2-6 p.m. Thursday June 2, 2016 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes, Streetsboro Chapel and on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until time of the Funeral services at 3:00 p.m. at the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home 209 Merchant St. Fairmont, West Virginia, Matt Lowe officiating.
