Mary Ellen Mays-Bliler, 93, of Mantua died Wednesday, June 14, 2017. She was born February 21, 1924 in Jeanette, PA to Lee R. and Helen B. (Maier) Hurlburt. Mary Ellen has lived in Mantua since 1968, was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and was a teacher for Crestwood Schools, St. Joseph School, and Hattie Larlham. Survivors include her children Daniel (Laura) Mays, Kathleen Hartshorne and David (Kathy Mattice) Mays, stepchildren Richard Bliler and Sharon Miller, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and ex-daughters-in-law Judy Mays, Judy Malcolm and Peggy McGuire. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Howard D. Mays and Eugene E. Bliler, son Denton Mays, ex-son-in-law Robert Hartshorne and siblings Robert Hurlburt, Harriet Hurlburt and Helen Suzanne Sparhawk. Calling hours will be from 2 - 4 PM Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel, with Rosary service to follow immediately after. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 19, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mantua with Father Ed Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua, Ohio.
