Mary (Maydak) Kuyon

Mary Kuyon 94 of Rootstown died Saturday, September 8,2012. She was born September 24, 1917 in New Mine, PA to Joseph and Helen (Kuba) Maydak. Mrs. Kuyon was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Mogadore, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Alter Aide Society member and volunteered with various activities at the church. She loved baking, cooking and gardening. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George in 2009, stepfather Amel Bobby, infant daughter Michelle Marie, sisters Ann Dubinsky, Olga Ringley and Irene Kovach and a brother John Maydak. Survivors include her sons George M. (Joan) Kuyon of Geneseo, NY and William (Virginia) Kuyon of Atwater, OH, grandchildren Autumn, Trent and Scott, great grandchildren Kylyn, Corbin and Ethan, sisters Helen Barna and Susan Janka both of Ravenna and brother Pete Bobby of California. Calling hours will be form 5 - 8 PM Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel with prayer services beginning at 7:30 PM Tuesday. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Mogadore with Fr. Nicholas Wyslutsky officiating. Burial will follow in Homeland Cemetery in Rootstown. The family request memorials to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 755 S. Cleveland Avenue, Mogadore, OH 44260.
