Mary A. (Luli) Postlethwait

Mary A. Postlethwait 81 of Rootstown passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019. She was born October 20, 1937 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late George Henry and Mary Louise (Hostler) Luli. Mary was a lifetime integral member of St. Peter of the Fields Church in Rootstown, where she was the current parish secretary, was active in Altar Rosary Society, Eucharistic Minister, active on the Parish Council, volunteer at the Portage County clothing center, Eucharistic Minister at Altercare Healthcare facility and was an Associate of the Sisters of Notre Dame. She worked at the  Record Courier where she met her future husband. She had also worked as an office manager for A & P and Krogers. After Krogers closed, Mary went back to business school and received her degree in accounting, after which she was the manager for the Ravenna License Bureau until retirement. She enjoyed many family vacations in Canada. Mary felt most blessed when surrounded by family. She was proud to be part of a wonderful extended family and always had time for anybody that needed her for advice, love or just an ear to listen. Survivors include her children Lorrie (John) Prince, Kathleen (Terry) Gray, Joseph (Caryn) Postlethwait and Thomas (Mandy) Postlethwait, grandchildren Tara, Allison, Justin, Ben, Will, Molly, Marci, Blake and  6 great grandchildren and siblings John Luli, Ray Luli and Sister Dorothy Luli. She married Larry Postlethwait at St. Peters of the Fields on August 17th 1957 in a double wedding with her brother John and his wife Allie Lowden.   Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Larry R. Postlethwait on April 30, 2005, sisters Marita Leyland, Florence Trares, Margaret Laskos, Eloise Miley and brothers William Luli, George Luli and Charles Luli. Calling hours will be from 4 - 8 PM Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at St. Peter of the Fields Church, 3487 Old Forge Road, Rootstown, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the church with Father David Misbrener officiating, and Rev. James-Peter Trares-O.P. co-officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Peter of the Fields Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Memorials can be made to St. Peter of the Fields Church or the Sisters of Notre Dame, Chardon, Ohio.
