Mary Jane Pochedly

Mary Jane (nee Kessler) Pochedly, 94, passed into eternal rest Thursday, July 6, 2023. Born April 2, 1929, in Freedom, Ohio, to Charles and Anna (Mellenger) Kessler and was a lifetime resident of Hiram, Ohio. She married James Joseph Pochedly of Freedom on February 4, 1950. James preceded her in death, along with her parents, brothers Charles and John, and sisters Anna (Metz), Madelene (Inglado), Elizabeth (McCoy), and Louise (Kindel). She is survived by her daughters Jody Hopkins, Jane (Tom) Gilliland, sons James (DeeAnn), Jeff, and J. Michael (Susanne), twelve grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Mary Jane enjoyed cooking, baking, ceramics, bird watching, receiving visits from her family (and their dogs), and spending winters in Florida with her husband after farm harvesting was done. As Mary Jane requested, there will be no calling hours. A private family mass and gathering will be at a later date.
