Mary Ann Prejna

Mary Ann (Hibbard) Prejna, 83, of Streetsboro, peacefully departed this world on Monday, September 21, 2026, following a brief illness. Mary Ann was born in Lackawanna, NY, on February 10, 1943, the second of Vincent and Margaret Hibbard’s four daughters. After graduating from Baker-Victory High School in 1960 she embarked on a career in bookkeeping. In 1962 she met Arthur Prejna, of Buffalo, and they married in 1964.

In 1977, Mary Ann, Art and their three children made their home in Streetsboro. Mary Ann’s fondest moments were spent raising her family, at Lake Chautauqua on summer weekends, and celebrating holidays with family in Western New York. She was known as a devoted wife; a loving mother and Nana; and a discerning, loyal friend, with a sharp wit and thoughtful, caring nature. She will be especially missed by the David Drive Divas, of which she was a founding member.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Art, and her beloved sister, Peggy. She is survived by her younger sisters, Linda Stefko and Sharon Hemming; her lifelong friend, Joan Goldsmith; her children, Michael Jenny and Marcie Prejna; and her grandchildren, Sydney (Desiree) Boardwine and Jacob Miller.

Mary Ann chose to be cremated, and her remains will be interred with Art at Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro at a later date. Her family expresses its profound gratitude to the staff of Independence Village Senior Living Community in Aurora, OH, and CorsoCare hospice services for the care and compassion they provided to Mary Ann at the end of her life.
