Marybelle (Porterfield) Rutan

Marybelle Rutan, 92, of Ravenna, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at the Pine Valley Care Center. She was born on January 15, 1921 in St. Clairsville, Ohio to the late John C. and Emma (Berry) Porterfield. Marybelle graduated from Muskingum College, where she met her husband of 64 years, Glenn C. Rutan. She was a teacher for the Ravenna School System, teaching home economics and English. She belonged to the Iva Austen Garden Club and the Ravenna Women's League. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, reading, and participating in Elks club activities with her husband. Marybelle is survived by her daughters, Jayce (Scott) Hutchison of Pueblo, Colorado and Jayne (Andrew) Trautman of Brecksville; and two grandsons, Dylan and Deryk Trautman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; one brother; and one sister. Cremation has taken place; she will join her husband in a private family service held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
