Maxine Elizabeth (Mcclay) Phelps

Maxine Elizabeth Phelps, age 87, of Rootstown, Ohio passed away on December 22, 2016. Maxine was born on April 4, 1929 in Palmyra, Ohio to the late John and Elva McClay. She was preceded in by her loving husband, Clarence W. Phelps Sr. and by her daughter-in-law, Donna. Maxine is survived by her children; Patti Phelps, Gloria (David) Coulson, Karen (Barry) Kaschner, Clarence (Donna) Phelps Jr., Michael Phelps, Thomas (Barbara) Phelps, John (Laura) Phelps, and Ronald (Sheila) Phelps. Her memory is cherished by 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and by many friends. Maxine was a member of Ravenna Assembly of God, and participated with their Women's Ministies. She was a good Christan mom, who truely practiced what she preached. Calling hours will take place on Tuesday December 27, 2016 from 5 to 8 PM at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes’ Ravenna Chapel. The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Gary Beck on Wednesday December 28, 2016 at 11 AM at the Ravenna Assembly of God Church 6401 State Route 14, Ravenna, OH 44266. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
