Maxine E. Vair, 101, a lifelong resident of Charlestown died Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Woodlands at Robinson. She was born October 21, 1913 in Charlestown Township to George and Susie (Travilla) Richards. Maxine worked in the laundry at the original Robinson Memorial Hospital, at Cleveland Worsted Mills and was a Board of Elections Poll Worker in Charlestown for over 25 years. She enjoyed crocheting camping and had been a member of Good Sams Camping Club. Survivors include her daughter Sandra (Roger) Platt of Ravenna, grandchildren Deborah (Charles) Hutton and Rick (Patty) Raber, 3 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George in 1998, sisters Georgia Crone and Grace Fletcher and brothers James, Andrew and Franklin. There will be no calling hours or services, cremation has taken place. Private burial will be in Charlestown Cemetery. The family would like to thank the station 3 nurses, aides and staff at the Woodlands for their care and support.
