Melvin H. Heeter

Melvin H. Heeter 75 a lifelong Ravenna Resident, passed away Monday February 14, 2011 at his residence.  He was born September 13, 1935 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Fred and Florence (Clancy) Heeter.  He retired from Universal Custom Processing in Streetsboro as a painter and was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War.  He was a former member of the Ravenna Eagles, Moose and VFW Post 1055.  Survivors include his sons Robert (Donna) Heeter of Toledo, Melvin J. (Cassandra) Heeter of Ravenna, Jesse (Jackie) Heeter of Mantua, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, brothers Bill Heeter of WVA, Ronnie Heeter of Ravenna, sisters Donna Cotton of TN and Patricia Heckert of Ravenna.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Gladys V.V. Heeter in 1963, a daughter Vivian Heeter, four brothers and two sisters.  Calling hours will be Friday February 18, 2011 from 2-4 PM and 6 PM until time of funeral services at 7:30 PM at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with Rev. Bill Snyder officiating.
