Melvin E. Nation, 61 of Ravenna passed away Monday April 14, 2014 at the Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. He was born February 18, 1953 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Tom Williamson and Lillian Nation. Mr. Nation has lived in Ravenna most of his life and was a retired truck driver working for several companies. He was veteran of the US Army serving his country in the Vietnam War and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, riding motorcycles and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 18 years Karen (Qualls) Nation, his children Susan Bryant of Ravenna, April (Gary) Aceto of Warren, Melvin (Kim) Glover of Atlanta, GA., Lance Qualls of Ravenna, Michael Taylor of Ravenna, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings Yolanda Jones, Robert (Trish) Nation, David (Vickie) Williamson all of Ravenna and John (Margaret) Jones of Kent. Calling hours will be from 10:00 AM until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday April 19, 2014 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.
