Merlon M "Bud" Schaefer passed away at home on February 6, 2015. He was born in Ashtabula, OH on October 6, 1934 to the late Henry and Jeannette Schaefer. He was preceded in death by his brother Harold Schaefer and sister Nancy Eno. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years Emma Jo (Rigney) Schaefer. Children Elaine (Philip) Dixon and Richard (Kristina) Schaefer. Grandchildren Michelle Roehm, Thomas Andrew Roehm, Julie (Ryan) Hoke, Sylvanna (Sean) Andersson, Calvin Neer and Aurora Schaefer. Great Grandchildren Malik Andersson, Bridgett Hoke and Keara Andersson and many nieces and nephews. Bud was a resident of Streetsboro OH for the past 54 years. He served in the US Navy during the Korean war and retired from GM in 1999. He enjoyed traveling, wood working, reading, cooking, cars, motorcycles and playing the harmonica. Most of all he loved his children and grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015 at 11:30 AM at Crossroads Community Church, 9018 Route 44, Ravenna, OH. Visitation will be at 10:30 am with the service to follow with Reverend David Oreskovic officiating.
