Mervin L. "Pete" Martin

Mervin L. "Pete" Martin 71 of Ravena passed away Monday April 25, 2011 at Akron City Hospital.  He was born June 6, 1929 in New Kensington, PA to the late James and Charlotte (Troup) Martin.  Pete has lived in Ravenna since 1977 and was formerly of Hubbard.  He retired from Burroughs as a district manager and worked for Kent State Golf Course as a starter.  He volunteered for RMH and was a veyeran of the US Navy.  Surivors include his sons W. David Martin of California, Mike (Connie) Martin of Ravenna, daughter Lynne (Michael) Hall of Niles, Ohio, grandchildren Chris, Jimmy, Josh, two great grandsons and his companion Pandy.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Jean in Jan. of 2008 and twin daughters  Lisa and Laura.  Calling hours will be 6-8 PM Thursday April 28, 2011 at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.  Graveside services and burial  will be 3:00 PM Friday April 29, 2011 at Grandview Memorial Park Ravenna, Ohio with Chaplain Chuck Dennison officiating.
