Michael Wayne "Big Dad" Martin

Michael Wayne "Big Dad" Martin, 80 of Mantua, passed away on Wednesday October 13, 2021 at his home with his family by his side.  On April 10, 1941, he was born to the late Alfred "Bill" Wayne and Lura Vivian (Grimes) Martin in Wheeling, West Virginia.  Mr. Martin was a veteran of the US Navy and had retired from Filmco after 40 years of service where he worked as a fork lift operator.  Big Dad enjoyed spending time doing wood working and carpentry projects as well as building and fixing computers. He also looked forward to meeting up with his fellow retirees from Filmco. Big Dad spent a great deal of time researching genealogies of his family and others, traveling to meet with people and visiting cemeteries.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Allen and Bill Martin.  Survivors include his children  Jeremy (Annette) Martin, Mike (Renee) Martin his grandchildren Breyann, Mackenzie and her husband John,  Jordan, Jeremy, Kaylee, Michael, Evan, his  great grandchildren Harmony, Charlie, Axel, his sister Beth (Donnie) Fish and nieces and nephews Dana, Shannon, Mason and Ashley.  Calling hours will be  Friday October 22, 2021 from 10 AM until time of the 12 NOON funeral service at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with his son Rev.
