Michael F Boland

Michael Boland,34, of Atwater and  formerly of Rootstown, passed away in his sleep Friday, August 13, 2021 of natural causes due to heart related complications. Born January 10, 1987, Michael leaves behind his wife of less than 2 years, Lesley (Katzenmeyer); 4 month old son Jordan; mother and father, Freida and Don Boland of Rootstown; brother Russell (Brandy) of Randolph; niece Lilly, nephew, Dylan; mother-in-law, Mary (MC) Katzenmeyer of Wadsworth; brother-in-law Aaron (Laura) of New Mexico; several aunts, uncles and cousins.  His four-legged baby, Annie, will also miss him. Upon graduation from Kent State University, Michael secured immediate employment with Summit Academy Management, where he continued until his death. Michael was an all-round athlete, excelling in soccer, baseball and basketball during his childhood and school years, but his favorite sport was golf. He especially enjoyed golfing with his father, brother and cousin at local outings, and watching professional golfer, Jordan Spieth (hence his son’s name) on TV.  He was looking forward to teaching his son golf so they could enjoy the sport like he did with his father. Although quiet in nature, Michael was a very kind and giving individual with a sense of humor like no other, respected by all who knew him.  He loved his family especially doing puzzles with his wife and was looking forward to a wonderful life with his soulmate, Lesley and his son, Jordan. Memorial calling hours will be Friday August 20, 2021 from 9:30 Am until time of the Memorial Prayer Service at 11:00 AM with Father Richard Pentello officiating at St. Patrick's Church Kent, Ohio. Due to Covid 19, masks will be required. The family invites you to wear Cav's or Under Armour attire, both favorites of Michael's.
