Michael J. Knapp 55 of Atwater, Ohio passed away Sunday December 23, 2012 at the Alliance Community Hospital. He was born July 11, 1957 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Lester and Pauline (Schweitzer) Knapp. Michael has lived in Atwater his whole life and had done work as a carpenter and landscaper. He enjoyed woodworking , refurbishing old furniture, the outdoors and using his metal detector looking for Indian Artifacts. Survivors include his brother Gary Knapp of Atwater, sisters Jeanette (Daniel) Rothermal of Atwater, Linda (Curtis) Jones of Rootstown, Charlotte Vayner of Alliance , Theresa (Daniel) Paquette of Atwater, his nieces and nephews Brian, Jim, John, Randy, Amanda, Riley, Kristen, Danielle, Kyle and Great niece Chyanne. Calling hours will be 2:30 PM Saturday December 29, 2012 until time of memorial services at 3:30 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with Pastor Lee Kachner, Jr. officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Randolph, Ohio. The family requests memorials to the Atwater Fire Department.
