Michael William James Krapinski passed away unexpectedly due to health complications on Thursday, July 2, 2026 surrounded by his family and closest friends in his final moments. A resident of Aurora, Ohio, Mike was the life of every party and had a remarkable ability to light up every room he entered. His infectious laugh, quick wit, and joyful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He had an incredibly generous heart and was always looking out for those he loved. Mike was deeply committed to helping others, dedicating much of his life to guiding people toward the joy of sobriety and the peace, strength, and comfort found through faith in God. As an active member of AA for four decades, he sponsored countless individuals on their journey to recovery, offering encouragement, unwavering support, and a living example of what was possible. He found joy in the simple things—riding his Harleys, slot-car racing, spending time with his beloved dogs, and, above all, being surrounded by family and friends. A man of deep faith, Mike will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, cherished brother and uncle, loyal friend, and trusted sponsor. Mike is lovingly survived by his wife, Sally Krapinski; his daughter, Nicole Wadkins and her husband, Jay; his daughter, Pamela McGowan and her husband, Steve; his son, Rick Krapinski; his grandchildren, Lylah and Gavin Wadkins, Michael Krapinski, Marley Krapinski, and Evan and Grace McGowan. He is also survived by his beloved siblings, Sandy Hensley, Renee Welsh, Donald Krapinski, Shelly Kavacevic, Patty Hanson, Jill Ryba, and Jack Peterson, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald William Krapinski; his mother, Ruth Peterson; his brother, Joseph William Krapinski; and his beloved son, Justin Michael Krapinski. A memorial service celebrating Mike’s life will be held on Thursday, July 9, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes in Streetsboro, Ohio with a service held at 6:00pm. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in remembrance of a man whose love, laughter, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
