Michael John Robitaille, age 44. Sadness poured over us as Michael lost his battle with Covid. Michael was fully vaccinated, but because of a weakened immune system, he could not ultimately beat the virus. Michael was an intervention specialist at Scioto School, Columbus City Schools. He specialized in working with at-risk students. Michael graduated from Streetsboro High School in 1995. He received his undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University and received his masters in special education from the University of Dayton. Michael loved to camp and had an eclectic taste in music, with a special fondness for folk music. Cats, however, were Michael's passion. Over the years, Michael had rescued over 50 cats. Michael is survived by his loving mother, Nancy (Debra Clark) Robitaille and devoted father John (Sue) Robitaille, his brother Andrew (Amanda) Robitaille, nephew Cooper Robitaille, his Uncle Roy, as well as two grandmothers, Sue Necina and Ellie Robitaille. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Art Robitaille and uncle Mark Robitaille. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, due to the current situation with Covid. Condolences and memories of Michael can be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
