Midge P. (Ackerman) Ellenberger

Midge P. Ellenberger, 75, of Hiram passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012 at the Cleveland Clinic surrounded by her family. She was born in Kent February 7, 1937 to the late Frank and India (Brown) Ackerman. Midge worked as a clerk for Wal-Mart and in the Hiram College candy shop. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and baking; she was a snow bird who loved playing beanbag baseball, bingo and playing cards. For Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital she made hats for premature infants, and made pillow cases to try to put smiles on the faces of children battling cancer. Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Stanley Ellenberger, daughters, Darlene Jacobson and Terrie Ellenberger, son, Daniel Ellenberger, sister, Dottie (Robert) Eckerman, sister-in-law, Brigitte Ackerman, grandchildren, Danielle (Phil) Jolliff, Shannon Kerr, Emma Kerr, Jebidiah, Cody, Jessamynn, Dana, Corey, great-grandchildren, Meadow, M.J., and Zayas. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary, Delores, Isabella, Gene, Glenn, Fredrick, and Frank. A memorial gathering will be held from 1 - 3 PM Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
