Mindy Jean Murphy

Mindy Jean Murphy passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a 2 year battle with breast cancer at Cleveland Clinic Akron General. Mindy was born October 15, 1981 in Ravenna, Ohio to Lee and Tammy Murphy.

Mindy was a true free bird and loved to travel, with her most favorite trip to Nepal to see Mt. Everest. She loved going to concerts and traveling to New York to go fly fishing. One of her greatest accomplishments was finding the Lord which lead to her sobriety for over 8 years. She was very active in her sobriety, as a certified peer support specialist and the Area 54 Public Information Chair for AA. She had a mission to save, making countless trips picking up women, taking them to meetings and Bible studies, collecting items and clothes to take to the homeless. She loved life and meeting new people. Mindy could talk to anyone and made friends wherever she went. She loved hummingbirds but even more loved “her” dogs Linkin and Gator.

Survivors include her father, Lee Murphy of Ravenna, her sisters Dusty (Robert Adkins) of Ravenna, Amanda (Jake Daniels) of Mantua, her niece and nephew, Levi and Kailee Daniels of Mantua, Grandmother Christine Murphy and her lifelong friend, Don Marino.

Mindy was preceded in death by her Mother, Tammy Murphy, Grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Erdman, and Grandfather, Willie Murphy.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial calling hours will be from 3 PM until time of memorial service at 5 PM on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel with Pastor Fred Webb officiating.
