Nancy Schneider, 78, passed away following a long battle with dementia. She leaves behind a family who loved her dearly and memories that will be treasured for generations.
Nancy was a strong-willed woman who knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to pursue her dreams. After her daughters were older, she made the decision to return to school and become a cosmetologist, proving that it is never too late to start a new chapter.
In 1991, Nancy turned that dream into reality when she opened her own salon, Totally You, in Cincinnati. The salon was a true labor of love, built by her husband, Joseph Schneider, out of an old Video Barn. Together, they transformed the space into something special, and Nancy was excited to begin this new adventure. Tragically, Nancy was involved in a serious car accident the day of the official grand opening. The accident resulted in a traumatic brain injury, and Nancy faced the enormous challenge of learning how to do everyday things all over again.
Although she was never able to return to her work at Totally You, she continued to find joy in the things she loved most. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family, watching her favorite movies and television shows featuring Chuck Norris and Arnold Schwarzenegger, and going to garage sales in search of hidden treasures. She found happiness in simple pleasures like painting her nails mauve and taking care of numerous houseplants.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Viola Allen and Willington Boughton. She also now joins her beloved husband, Joseph Schneider, who passed away in 2012. She is survived by her daughters, Renee Gigax (Cory) and Tinamarie Reese (Wes); and her three grandchildren, Julian Reese, Mackenna Gigax, and Alison Gigax, who will forever hold memories of their mother and grandmother close to their hearts.
Nancy's life was one of determination, unexpected challenges, and perseverance. Through it all, her strong will remained a defining part of who she was. She will be remembered for the life she built, the dreams she pursued, and the family she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed.
