Nora Jean Svagerko 90 of Shalersville died Tuesday, August 5, 2014. She was born May 14, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio to John M. and Elsie (Blauman) Banks. Formerly of Bedford, she has lived in Shalersville for the past 20 years. Nora was a bus driver for Orange City Schools from 1963 to 1996 and was a Rosie the Riveter at Republic Steel during WWII. Following her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her friends, was in a bowling league in Bedford and enjoyed Polka Dancing.  Nora loved spending time with the little chldren and loved driving. Survivors include her son Terry (Michelle) Svagerko of Bedford, grandchildren Christopher (Suzanne) McGhee, Michelle (Mark) Stone, Susan (Adam Shaeffer) Svagerko, Katelyn Svagerko, Elizabeth Svagerko and Paul Svagerko, sister Sharon Reese of Streetsboro and brother Don (Dorothy) Banks of NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert Svagerko, daughters Susan R. Coit and Jeri Svagerko and a sister Loretta Casey. Calling hours will be from 4 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, August 7, 2014, with funeral services to follow at 7 PM with Reverend Judy Svagerko officiating.
