Norman Van Johns, 88, of Diamond, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2010 at Robinson Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 14, 1921 in Diamond to the late Thomas and Anna (Griffith) Johns. Norman was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #530 of Deerfield and the Order of the Eastern Star, Palmy Chapter, #114, for 50 years. Norman retired from Rockwell International , where he worked as a Forman. He is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Johns and Jeanne Johns, and Rebecca (Michael) Neikirk, all of Diamond; step-daughter, Peggy (Jerry) Sholly of Ravenna; step-sons, David (Denise) Johns of Ravenna and James (Lora) Johns of Homosassa, Florida; three grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, and Michelle; and four great-grandchildren, BJ, Courtney, Robert, and Caitlyn. In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his two wives, Ruthrdra Johns and Jane Johns; three sisters; and one brother. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 12PM until the 1 PM service at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel. Interment will follow in West Cemetery, Palmyra.
