Odine I (Hayes) Metz

Odine I. Metz 87 of Streetsboro passed away Tuesday January 27, 2015 at the Gardens of the Western Reserve  In Streetsboro, Ohio.  She was born June 26, 1927 in Calcutta, India to the late Mervin  and Irene  (Goodeaye) Hayes.  Mrs. Metz has lived in Streetsboro since 2002and was formerly of Aurora since 1959.  She had worked for Anna Marie Nursing Home as a nurse's aide for over 30 years and was  a member of the First Baptist Church in Aurora, Ohio.  During WW II she was a spotter for the British and  Indian army's  looking  for Japanese airplanes.  Survivors include her children Larry (Sue) Metz of Merrimac, MA, Dexter (Jackie ) Metz of Solon, Danny Metz of Twinsburg, Leonard Metz of Aurora, Ohio, Connie (James) Goggin of Aurora, Mary (Curtis) Saks  of Mentor, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Henry R. Metz in April of 2001, one sister and 2 brothers.  A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM Friday February 6, 2015 at the First Baptist Church 79 Mennonite Rd. Aurora, Ohio 44202 with Rev. Drew Carrol officiating.  Burial will follow the services at Hillcrest Memorial Park Bedford, Ohio.   Arrangements entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Streetsboro Chapel.  Memories and condolences  may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
