Opal M. (Dix) Jones

Opal M. Jones, 85, of Ravenna passed away Friday January 15, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Ravenna, Ohio.  She was born December 20, 1930 in Dille, West Virginia to the late Vernon and Tressa Murphy.  Mrs. Jones  has lived in Ravenna since 1963 and had worked up until August 2013 as a dispatcher for Rivers Garage.  She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and croteching and  was an avid collector  over several years of many different items.  Survivors include her husband Rivers Jones whom she married October 8, 1954, her son Gary (Vicki) Jones of Ravenna, her grandchildren Michael (Nancy)  and David Jones, her siblings Vernon Murphy, Jr. and Joy Browning both of West Virginia.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Herald L. Jones on December 6, 2011 and her brother Doy Murphy.  Calling hours will be 6-8 PM Tuesday January 19, 2016 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday January 20, 2016 with Pastor David Ballert officiating.  Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park Ravenna, Ohio.  Condolences and memories of Opal may be shared  with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
