Patricia Ann (Rummel) Louk

Patricia Ann Louk, 59, of Kent passed away  on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Robinson Memorial Hospital. She was born January 27, 1953 to the late Carl and Donna (Crowe) Rummel. She was a 1971 graduate of Ravenna High School and lived her adult life in Kent. She is free of pain today after battling Scleroderma for over 20 years. And a battle it was. She faced this disease with courage and determination everyday.  She will be so sadly missed. Patty worked for the Kent School System for over 20 years. She loved every child she met. Even after the effects of the disease forced her to retire, she went to the school twice weekly to read to the children. Patty left a part of herself in everything she did. Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Lunydol, who saw her through each day, loving her more; daughter Kesley Louk, who she was so very proud of; grandson, Mahki Louk, who was the love of her life. All Patty ever wanted was to be a wife, mother, and grandmother. Also surviving  is her only sister, Vicki (Dwayne) Gilpin, who shared so many  wonderful times growing up as the "Rummel Girls"; brothers and sisters-in-law, Demoine (Jill) Louk, Laniece Hood, and Lanore Rader; nieces and nephews, James Redfern, Doug (Lourene) Louk, Tina Stalnaker, and Sara Hood. She will be sadly missed by many other extended family members. Patty fought a gallant fight and never complained. The family would like to thank Dr. Ray Morris, who saved her life 20 years ago, giving her family many extra years of treasured memories.  A thank you to everyone that touched Patty's life, there are too many to name, but the family appreciates you all. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, Where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to one's charity of choice.
