Patricia J. Stephens

Patricia J. Stephens, 75 of Edinburg, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025. She was born October 28, 1949 in Akron, Ohio to the late Ernest and Gertrude (Burgers) Mertens. Patricia was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Ellet and the Portage County Historical Society. She worked as a secretary for Kent State University and as a Project Specialist for NEOMED. Survivors include her husband John Stephens, sons Sean (Antoinette) Stephens and Scott (Lydia) Stephens, grandchildren Chase and Beckett and brother Ernest (Ann) Mertens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Gertrude Coble. Her joyful presence and generous heart will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.  A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM Friday, March 7, 2025 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 450 Dennison Avenue, Akron, OH.
