Paul Charles Adair, 88, of Ravenna will be spending Christmas with Jesus and his wife Mary this year. He passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016 at his residence with his loving daughter by his side. He was born on Nov. 6, 1928 in Rootstown, OH to Bertha (First) and Charlie Adair. Paul was only 4 days old when his mother died from childbirth. Bertha’s sister, Mabel Arvilla Hobden, took Paul home from the hospital in a laundry basket and raised him as her own child. Mabel already had a daughter of her own, Letha Skinner, and the two children were raised together as a family. Paul and his wife, Mary Konkle got married at the Methodist Church in Ravenna on April 4, 1953 and spent 60 years together until she passed away in 2012 from cancer. Paul leaves behind 3 daughters, Leona (Jay) Allen of Vero Beach, FL, Janet (Vito) Giulitto of Rootstown, OH and Holly (Mark) Jensen of Omaha, NE. He also leaves 3 grandsons; Jonathan Giulitto, Anthony (Nichole) Giulitto, and Ryan Allen. He had one great granddaughter, Gianna Giulitto of Rootstown, OH. Paul was preceded in death by brother Cliff Adair and sister Florence Few. He also leaves Letha Skinner of Clinton behind and his nieces Seeta Willis and April Steinmetz and his nephews Newell, Neil, and Nate Adair, along with many friends from the Christian Life Center where he was a member. Paul’s life was guided by his strong faith in God and gave his testimony on his many healings that he received over the years. Paul and Mary enjoyed camping with their 3 girls and traveled to every state in the US. Paul worked in the powerhouse at Cleveland Worsted Mills as a maintenance man until they liquidated, and then went to Harcort Manufacturing Company in Ravenna, making Evenflo bottle caps. Paul also worked for Boutell Trucking Company, in New Milford, as a mechanic and was also the school bus mechanic for Rootstown Local School System, where he retired in 1977. He always enjoyed working on engines and modified everything to make more power. At Paul’s request, there will be a private service with Pastor Cliff Heath officiating and his final resting place will be at Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna.
