Paul Arlo Bowen, 73, went home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2026. He passed away at his home in Tucson, Arizona after a courageous long time battle against numerous health issues. He was born on June 28, 1953 in Ravenna, Ohio to parents James Ward Bowen and Arla Jean Flowers. His grandparents were Don DeWitt Bowen and Laura Eugenia Parks, Councilman Earl William (Jerry or Posey) Flowers and Maude Alene Smith, all of Ravenna.
Paul attended Ravenna High School until the family moved to Arizona in 1969. There he graduated in 1971 from Palo Verde High School in Tucson. On July 15, 1972 he married Kathy Lynn Walinski. Health concerns caused Paul to retire in 2009 after a successful career in land surveying, real estate, home building and land development. Paul volunteered as an administrative reviewer at the Arizona State Museum and also as a chaser of hot air balloons.
Paul is survived by sons Kevin and Brian, and granddaughters Lily and Evie, all of Tucson; brother Mark (Joyce) of Ravenna, sisters Susan (Bruce) Allen of Scottsdale and Jane Jones of Mesa. A daughter Alexis Lynn, and brothers Daniel James (Danny) and William Bradley (Billy) died previously. Calling hours will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service on Saturday October 24 at the First Church of God, 237 New Milford Road, Ravenna. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. Condolences and memories of Paul may be shared at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
