Paul F. Hurst, 77 of Ravenna, formerly of Rootstown, died Thursday, July 7, 2011. He was born August 25, 1933 in Dodridge County, WV to the late Lewis and Alice (Swiger) Hurst. Paul was a member of the Summit Road Baptist Church in Ravenna and a US Army veteran and former quality control supervisor for Ametek Lamb Electric in Kent. Survivors include his wife of 34 years Wilma (Layfield), daughters Sandra (Randy) Williams of Newton Falls and Karen (Mohamed Hoover) Lupton of Wallhalla, SC, sons Gary and Ron Hurst of Ravenna, stepsons David Caruthers and Tim (Holly) Caruthers, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sisters Barbara (Wes) McDaniel and Anna Nutter of Ravenna and brother William (Linda) Hurst of Trenton, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Robert L. "Bob" Hurst. Calling hours will be from 3 - 5 PM Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Monday with Reverend Brett Joy officiating. Burial will be in Charlestown Cemetery.
