Paul J. Postlethwaite 91 of Ravenna died Monday, October 4, 2010. He was born June 24, 1919 in Wileyville, WV to the late Arvil E. and Grace B. (Yoho) Postlethwaite. Formerly of Mantua, he has lived in Ravenna since 1959 and was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and the Ravenna Elks. Paul was a US Army veteran of WWII serving under General George Patton, a former Ravenna City Councilman, and worked as a general contractor and had served as Cheif Building Inspector for the cities of Ravenna and Kent, Portage County Building Director, Zoning Board for Ravenna City and Township, BOCA and Past President of 5 County Building Officials where he received a lifetime achievement award. Survivors include his wife of 64 years Patricia "Pat" (Crozier), sons Robert of Charleston, SC and Larry B. of Pinehurst, NC, 4 grandchildren and 6great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Dennis, a sister Wanda DeCapito and brothers Ronald and Harold Postlethwaite. Calling hours will be from 4 - 7 PM Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. Memorials should be made to Ravenna Parks and Recreation, 530 N. Freedom Street, Ravenna, OH 44266.
