Pearl Vernell (Scruggs) Byrd

Pearl Vernell Byrd, 79 of Warren, formerly of Ravenna, passed away at her home Monday, April 21, 2014. She was born November 8, 1934 in Chesnee, SC, to the late Finley and Berenice (Overcash) Scruggs.  She worked for Hardlines Services in Aurora until she retired in 2009. She loved working in her yard, gardening, cleaning and was a family caregiver.  She will be sadly missed by her children, Janice Salyer, Willie Parham, Elaine Eller, her siblings, Bruce Scruggs, Willene Justice, Orell Blanton, E.L. Scruggs, Wilton Scruggs, 8 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter whom is on the way.  The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday April 24, 2014 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel where visitation will be from 10:00 AM till time of the service. Pastor James Walden Jr, will be officiating. Burial  will in Maple Grove Cemetery following the service.
