Penny M. (Jancie) Gittinger

Helen  M. "Penny " Gittinger, 87, of Streetsboro, formerly of Warrensville Heights, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012 in her home. She was born on September 26, 1925 in Marsteller, Pennsylvania to the late, Andrew and Anna (Brichta) Jancie. Penny was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church. She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Robert) Teagarden of Crucible, Pennsylvania; son, Robert (Sheri) Gittinger of Wickliffe; grandchildren, Christopher (Kristi) Teagarden, Robert (Brenda Spitek) Teagarden III, Robin Pieri, and Anna (Ryan) Kasinec; great- granddaughter, Sarah Teagarden; brother-in-law, Steve Gittinger of Aurora; and dear friend, Carol Lawrence of Aurora. In addition to her parents, Penny was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gittinger;  sister, Mary Johnson; and companion, Warren Lantzy. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 PM at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral  Home, Streetsboro Chapel. A memorial mass will be held on Friday at 10 AM at St. Joan of Arc Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Robinson Memorial Hospital, Hospice and VNA, 6847 N. Chestnut St., Ravenna, OH 44266, OR St. Joan of Arc Church, 8894 St. Rt. 14, Streetsboro, OH 44241.
