Peter J. Vitucci (Pete) passed away Monday, August 17th, 2026. He was a proud first generation American. He was born at home in Youngstown on May 5th, 1936 to Panfilo and Lidia (Pinciaro) Vitucci. He was a graduate of East High School class of 1954. Pete worked at a local steel mill until drafted, then serving in the US Army from 1959-61, stationed in Germany. In 1962, he became an employee of the State of Ohio, retiring from the State Highway Patrol in 1988 and the State Medical Board in 2007. He then worked part-time for 9 years at a local auto dealership and later did volunteer work until his wife became ill. Pete was an avid sports fan, enjoyed reading, jogging well into his 70’s, and later walking. He was devoted to his wife, Regina M (Perkowski) Vitucci, whom he married on May 6th, 1967. He is preceded in death by his wife, Regina, infant son Damian Vincent, parents, and brother-in-law, Sam Pagano. Pete is survived by his daughters Marcie (Greg) Barberio of Winter Garden, FL. Melanie Vitucci, Ravenna, and Melissa (Dan) Marzec of Stow, and his sister Dahlia Pagano of Girard. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Abby and Ava Barberio, Damian Diroll, Jacob, Ben, and Will Marzec, plus nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main Street Ravenna on Wednesday August 26 at 11AM. Entombment will follow at St Mary Cemetery in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to Harmony Hospice or Special Olympics Portage County at 2500 Brady Lake Road Ravenna, Ohio 44266
