Phyllis Jean Griffith

Phyllis Jean Griffith, 87, of Rootstown, went to be with the Lord peacefully January 15, 2025.

On March 5, 1937 she was born in Elk Lick, PA, to the late Austin C. and M. Elaine (Hersh) Hutzel.

Living in Rootstown most of her life, Phyllis worked at Porky Pigs grocery store, she was a member of the Rootstown Historical Society and retired from the College of Medicine.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Lori Julia Kesling and former husband John M. Julia.

Survivors include her daughters Pam Calvin, Lisa Torres, her brother Austin C. "Chip" Hutzel Jr. and wife, Betty, Salisbury, PA, Sister-in-law, Anna Marie Julia, Akron, OH, 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, nieces, and great nieces and great nephews. She was loved by many family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 with calling hours at 10 AM and service at 11:00 AM at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.
