R. John Whitehead

R. John Whitehead Jr. 63 of Streetsboro, formerly of Solon, died Sunday, August 7, 2016. He was born July 5, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio to Richard John Sr. and Sally Jane (Schmunk) Whitehead. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam and Gulf Wars and was a driver for A. Duie Pyle Trucking. He was an avid bowler in the Solon Freeway Lanes Leagues. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister Stormy Philipash. Survivors include his wife Leslie (Wilkins) Whitehead, children Rhiannon (Angel) Sanchez, Rachel Whitehead, Richard John "Johnny" Whitehead,III, Janet (Michael) Holleran, Bradley Peck and Robert Peck, 5 grandchildren, brother Thomas (Nancy) Whitehead of Kent and sisters Holly (Kent) Lipocky of Kent and Amy (Kurt) Lange of Garrettsville. Calling hours will be from 5 - 8 PM Friday, August 12, 2016 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the funeral home with Chaplain Wayne Scott officiating. Following the memorial service a reception will be held at The Tinker's Creek Chapel.
