Ralph Arthur Livezey, 93 years of age, died Saturday October 30, 2021 at his residence. Born in Salem, Ohio on August 13, 1928, he was the son of the late Jesse Kersey and Alice Binns Livezey. Ralph and his wife Leona were childhood sweethearts, and graduated together in a class of 8 students from Palmyra High School in 1946. Ralph was patient, practical, kind, humble, calm, and caring, with a strong devotion to family and friends, who knew him as husband, dad, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Ralph had a bachelor’s degree from Kent State and worked most of his career for the railroad, retiring from Conrail in 1988, having spent years in the field overseeing large projects. Ralph was able to fix most anything around the house, and shared those skills with his children. He also enjoyed working with stained glass, golfing, fishing and traveling. He and his wife were avid campers, and enjoyed traveling the United States, as well as taking trips abroad. Ralph was a resident of Mantua since 1967, where he belonged to Hilltop Christian Church. On August 26, 1950, Ralph married Leona A. Lewis. He is survived by his son Mark and his wife Eva Strain Livezey, grand-daughter Jamie Freiden, her husband Andrew Freiden and their children Helena and Nathan, grand-son Darren, his wife Claudia Bolocco Livezey and their children Aiden and James; his daughter Dawn Livezey Thompson and her husband Lee Thompson, grand-daughter Arianna Youssefi Atkins, her husband Jesse Atkins and their children Adam and Lila, grand-son Alex Youssefi, grand-daughter Anna Youssefi, grand-daughter Krystal Thompson and her husband David; his son Dennis and his wife Melinda Frazier Livezey, grand-son Rick Wanyek, grand-daughter Allison Wanyek Decker, her husband Jeff Decker and their son Michael; his son Doug and his wife Marianne Thomas Livezey, grand-son Jesse, his wife Sarah Maslov and their son Luca, grand-daughter Mara, grand-son Nicholas. A memorial service will be held Saturday December 4, 2021 at 11:00 am at Hilltop Christian Church, 4572 West Prospect Street, Mantua, Ohio 44255. Burial of Ralph and Leona's remains will be at Palmyra Cemetery, with the family attending. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hilltop Christian Church 4572 West Prospect Street, Mantua, OH 44255. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
