Ray Edward Burkholder

We lost another member of the Greatest Generation with the passing of Ray Edward Burkholder, 100 years old, on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025. Ray was born in Ravenna on November 24, 1924 to Jonathan E. and Hettie R. (French) Burkholder. Ray was a World War II Army veteran and resided in Ravenna his entire life. He worked for the Ravenna Arsenal early on and retired from the Ohio Turnpike (Boston Maintenance) in 1984. Survivors include his sons, Donald R. (Susan) Burkholder and Larry L. Burkholder; grandchildren Sean (Carmen) Buck; Shannon (Adam) Campbell and niece Dawn Burkholder. Private family services were held, with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. The family wishes to thank the staff at Tamarack Ridge Health and Rehabilitation in Brimfield and Summa Hospice for the wonderful care Dad received there.
