Richard D. Eicher, Sr.

Richard D. Eicher, Sr., 82 of Rootstown formerly of Jefferson, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Akron City Hospital. Richard was born on August 8, 1943 in Allison, Pennsylvania to his late parents Robert Eicher and Kathryn (Portafield) Tapper. He had worked as a mold maker for Turbo Mold Inc. and was head maintenance for Euclid Industries. Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Eicher whom passed in 2021, son Richard D. Eicher, Jr., and siblings George Eicher, Anna Grace Swigel, and Jacquelyn Hartley, James Eicher and Elsie Grayhouse. Richard is survived by his son Kenneth Eicher, grandchildren Amber Eicher, Andrew Eicher, Allyson (Auston) Rhodes, Ryan Eicher, Troy Eicher and Macey Eicher, great grandchildren Novalyn Rhodes and Carter Rhodes, daughter-in-law Julie Eicher, and siblings, William Eicher, Charmin Hall, Gary Eicher and Diane. Callings hours will take place on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 11:00AM until time of funeral service at 12:00PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
