Richard A. Jones

Richard A. Jones 79 of Ravenna passed away Thursday October 14, 2010 at the Long Meadow Care Center in Ravenna, Ohio.  He was born March 6, 1931 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Ernest and Winifred (Williams) Jones.  Mr. Jones was a lifelong Ravenna resident, he was a member of the Ravenna American Legion, VFW of Kent and the Ravenna Elks.  He was a the owner/operator of RA Jones Electric in Ravenna where he retired.  He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War.  Survivors include his granddaughters Kristin Osdyke and Meaghan Evans both of St. Louis, Missouri and great granddaughter Olivia Evans.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou Jones and daughter Martha Jones.  Calling hours will be from 2-4 PM Sunday October 17, 2010 at the Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday October 18, 2010 with Rev. Mark Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio with Military Honors by the Ravenna VFW Post 1055.
