Richard C. "Rick" Osterland 69 of Ravenna passed away at his residence on Wednesday August 26, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born July 15, 1946 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Richard W. and Phyllis D. (Fox) Osterland. Rick was a lifelong Ravenna resident and had retired from Huntington Bank where he worked as a manager and also retired from Ravenna City Schools where he worked in food service. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War with the US Air Force and was very devoted to his family. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, followed all of Ravenna Sports and was past president of the Ravenna Band Patrons. Survivors include his wife Mary Ann (Marvin) Osterland whom he married March 7, 1970, his children Richard G. "Buster" (Delila) Osterland of Englewood, Ohio, Melissa (Larry) Schumaker of Garrettsville, his grandchildren Hunter Snode, Hayven Snode, his step grandchildren Sydney, Taylor and Nicole. Memorial calling hours will be 4-7 PM Thursday September 3, 2015 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. Graveside services with Military Honors by the US Air Force will be 10:30 Am Friday at Grandview Memorial Park Ravenna, Ohio. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials to Summa Cancer Institute Radiation Oncology Cooper Center 161 N. Forge St. Akron, Ohio.
