Richard Leonard Veon, 76 of Shalersville passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Robinson Memorial Hospital. He was born July 12, 1935 in Hudson, Ohio to late Leonard and Thelma (Kuchenbecker) Veon. He was a lifelong resident of Portage County and served in the Army. Richard worked for Shalersville Township and he enjoyed bowling in the Horseshoe Acres Team. Survivors include his daughters Annette Nicholas of Ravenna, Angie (Michael) Nutter of Freedom, reunited ex-wife Patricia Teibel of Ravenna, 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, sisters Shirley Moore of Rootstown, Sherry (Wayne) Klepper of Shalersville, brothers Lee (Janet) Veon of Rootstown, H.T. "Tom" (Nikki) Veon of Hiram, Bernard Veon of Ravenna, and 2 cats. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his step -mother Eleanor Veon, and a brother Lauren Veon. Calling hour will be held from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 PM Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Funeral l Services will be held at ,the Funeral Home ,11:00 AM Monday, June 11, 2012 with Rev. William Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery Shalersville following the service.
