Ricky G. Neal, Sr.

Retired Captain Ricky G. Neal, Sr. 60 passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna. He was born June 3, 1959 in Ravenna to Joseph W. and Anna Mae (Jones) Neal. Ricky served on the Garrettsville Police Department for 23 years with 11 of them as chief of police and then became the jail administrator for the Portage County Sheriff Department. He was a member of the Ravenna Assembly of God and the F.O.P. Lodge #70 in Ravenna. Survivors include his wife of 35 years Renee (Glodkowski), sons Ricky (Katie) Neal, Jr. and Robert Gregory (Leanne) Neal, the light of his life grandson Alexander Joseph Neal, siblings twin sister Vickie (Ronald) Smith and J. Donald Neal and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Calling hours will be from 3 PM until time of service at 6 PM Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at the Ravenna Assembly of God Church, 6401 State Route 14 in Ravenna. Reverend Gary Beck will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to the Assembly of God Legacy Offering. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
