Robert L. Colbert, Sr.

Robert L. Colbert 67 of Akron formerly of Ravenna, passed away Saturday September 3, 2016 at Akron City Hospital.  Mr. Colbert was born October 20, 1948 in Seale, Alabama to the late Lovell and Ethel Mae (Chambers) Colbert, Sr.  He has lived in Akron the past four years and had lived previously in Ravenna.  He also had worked as a station attendant for Texaco on the Ohio Turnpike and was a veteran of the US army serving  his country in the Vietnam War.  Survivors include his children, Robert L. Colbert, Jr., Monica Brantley, Elizabeth Colbert,  several grandchildren and siblings  Lovell Colbert, Jr., Will Colbert, Roosevelt Colbert and Jessie Colbert.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his  brother Alfonso.  Memorial services will be held at  1:00 PM Saturday September 10, 2016 at the New Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Ravenna.  His final resting place will be at the Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.  Condolences and memories of Robert  may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
